Trias Fall 2011
The green ensemble reminds me of Melanie Daniels from Hitchcock’s “The Birds”. I also love the structure of all the coats.

MELANIE DANIELS - THE BIRDS (Alfred Hitchcock)
The Birds. Wow, what a great movie, who would have thought that something so banal and harmless, birds, could be so horrific and insidious. Some people think the movie is a joke, not scary at all compared to today’s horror flicks, but I say, “Hey! It is scary because who would suspect that our everyday friends, birds, could turn against us.” Also birds are pretty fierce when they want to be, with their clawed talons and sharp beaks. Imagine a flock of talons, clawing at your eyes, incessantly. Terrifying.
Main character, Melanie Daniels, has quite the chic look. With her perfectly coiffed frosted blond bob, pastel sweater sets, and luxurious furs, she reminds me of the trophy wives of Greenwich, CT, which is why the film is all the more horrifying, (and entertaining), when we see rich girl Mel descend into a world of irrational terror at the hands of common avian species. Her poise and self assured persona slowly unravel into strands of straggly blonde hair, matted bloodied fur, and muted trauma.
